PPF Lithgow & Blue Mountains

Paint protection film for cars that actually go bush.

A ceramic coating will not stop a scratch. Paint protection film will — it is a clear urethane layer thick enough to take the damage instead of your clear coat.

Around here that matters more than most places. Pinstriping from scrub on a tight track, branches down the doors, gravel rash up the sills and flares on every dirt road west of the mountains. Paint protection film is the only thing that stops any of it.

We fit BushWrapz, Australia's biggest PPF brand, in the Lithgow workshop. Their kits are pre-cut to a pattern for your exact make and model rather than trimmed by hand on the vehicle, which means a cleaner line and no blade anywhere near your paint.

Australia’s biggest PPF brand, fitted by the workshop that already does your correction and coating work. CAPE and ADVANCE film, fitted indoors with the paint corrected first — and we quote every PPF job that comes in.

What film actually stops

Six things it takes instead of your paint.

Takes the gravel rash

Flares, sills and lower doors cop the worst of a dirt road. The film wears instead of the paint.

Stops scratches

Scrub, branches and the pinstriping you get on a tight track.

Stops paint fade

A UV barrier over the clear coat, which matters at altitude.

Self-healing

Light marks in the film close up with heat rather than staying there.

Protects resale

Pull the film off years later and the paint underneath has not aged with the car.

Removable

It comes off cleanly when you want it gone or replaced.

Where the damage actually stops

Film is a sacrificial layer. A branch down the side of a wrapped panel marks the film; the same branch on bare paint marks the clear coat, and that is a correction job rather than a replacement panel of film.

Why have us fit it

A pre-cut kit is only half the job.

The pattern comes cut. Everything that decides whether it still looks right in three years happens in the workshop.

The paint goes under the film forever

We decontaminate and correct first. Anything left in the clear coat — contamination, swirls, a bit of overspray — gets sealed under the film and stays there until it comes off.

Indoors, out of dust and wind

Film and airborne grit do not mix. Fitting in a closed workshop is the difference between a clean panel and a row of specks you can see from two metres away.

Edges that stay down

A lifted or dirty edge is what ruins most DIY jobs. We heat-seal every edge and hold the vehicle until the film has had its time to sit before you take it out.

One job, one place

Correction, film and a ceramic coating over the top, done in the right order by the same workshop — rather than three bookings and nobody responsible for the result.

Kit coverage

What a BushWrapz kit actually covers.

Pre-cut patterns are drawn for your exact make and model. The pink shows film; everything else is bare paint. Most people start with the panels that cop gravel and add to it later.

Cut for your vehicle, not trimmed on it

  • Film — bonnet, guards, bar work, sills, A-pillars, rear quarters and the panels that take stones and scrub.
  • Bare paint — glass, wheels and the areas a kit does not run to. A ceramic coating goes over all of it.

The films we fit

One year, or five.

Both are 7.5 mil thick and both are fitted by us. The difference is how long the film is warranted for — and for most vehicles that choice comes down to how long you are keeping it.

Short trips

CAPE

The entry film. Best for a trip rather than a lifetime — if you are heading west for a fortnight and want the paint to survive the gravel, this is the one.

BushWrapz also make a 10-year PRO and a 12-year HD film, which are cut for wrapped edges and need a Level 2 installer — that is not us, at least not yet. If that is what you are after, tell us anyway: we quote every PPF job that comes in and we will either do it or point you at someone who can.

Boat protected with BushWrapz marine paint protection film

Beyond 4WDs

Vans, boats and single panels.

BushWrapz cut film for more than utes and wagons, and we can order and fit any of it.

  • 4WDs and utes — bar work, flares, sills, bonnets, A-pillars and the panels that cop gravel.
  • Replacement panels — damaged one section? Replace that panel on its own instead of redoing the vehicle.
  • Caravans and campers — the front of a van takes the worst of the highway. Film takes it instead.
  • Marine — hull and topside protection for boats that get beached, trailered and towed.

Film or coating

Most 4WDs end up with both.

They are not competing products — they solve different problems, and the usual answer is film where the damage lands and a coating over everything else.

Paint protection film
  • Physically stops scrub, branches and gravel rash
  • Self-healing — light marks close up with heat
  • Goes on the panels that cop it: bonnet, bar work, sills, rear quarters
  • Removable, and the paint underneath has not aged
Ceramic coating
  • Gloss, and a surface that is far easier to wash
  • Chemical, UV and contamination resistance
  • Goes over the whole vehicle, including over film
  • Will not stop a scratch or a branch

Where we fit it

BushWrapz PPF in Lithgow and the Blue Mountains.

Film goes on in the Lithgow workshop, where it is out of the wind and the dust — that part is not a mobile job. It is a straight run up the Great Western Highway from Katoomba, Blackheath, Mount Victoria and Lithgow itself, and we have customers who drive over from Bathurst and Oberon for it. Drop the vehicle in the morning, pick it up when the film has had its time to sit.

Also available

DIY kits over the counter

We are a BushWrapz dealer too, so if you would rather fit it yourself you can buy a pre-cut CAPE or ADVANCE kit from us and collect it in Lithgow instead of paying freight. It comes with vehicle-specific video tutorials. Most people still have us fit it — but the option is there, and if you start one and want it finished properly, bring it in.

FAQ

Paint protection film questions.

Paint protection film, or PPF, is a clear urethane film that goes over your paint and takes the damage instead of the clear coat. Scrub, branches, gravel rash and UV all hit the film first. It is self-healing, so light marks close up with heat, and it peels off cleanly years later leaving the paint underneath as it was. We fit BushWrapz film, which is cut to a pattern for your exact vehicle rather than trimmed by hand on the car.

They do different jobs, and plenty of vehicles get both. A ceramic coating is a hard chemical layer — it gives you gloss, makes the car far easier to wash, and resists UV and contamination, but it will not stop a scratch. PPF is a physical film thick enough to take the damage instead. The usual approach is film down the sides where a track does its worst — flares, sills, doors, A-pillars — and a coating over the rest.

You can, and we sell the kits — but most people are better off having it fitted. DIY templates finish three to five millimetres back from every panel edge, and a lifted or contaminated edge is the thing that ruins an otherwise good job. We fit the CAPE and ADVANCE films properly, indoors, with the paint decontaminated first. If you would still rather do it yourself, buy the kit from us and we will talk you through it.

Our workshop garage is in Lithgow, NSW — an enclosed space with proper inspection lighting, which is what makes accurate paint correction and coating installation possible. We also run a mobile service, so plenty of Lithgow jobs happen in customers' own driveways rather than at the workshop. Full address details are provided when you book in.
